Tassels Tassels Tassels!

Another reason I wanted to start blogging is that there are so many small businesses that I admire. Being a small business owner myself, I love to see individuals create their own opportunity by turning their passion into a profitable and enjoyable way of making a living. Which leads me to my first small-business-girl-crush! Kendra Beshk of Shop Kendra Beshk!

I fell upon Kendra’s unique and colorful Instagram many years ago. I loved the prints she had available and had even commissioned her to design a logo for the collar & leash company I had and of course, was thoroughly pleased. I’ve always loved her style, eye for great photos and her products. Now Kendra hand-makes tassel key-chains, tassel garlands, and other stamped and leather goods that I love and think you will too!

I asked Kendra if we could do a little Q&A so you could meet her and learn more about her company, her and her family and her products!

Tell me a little about yourself and your family:

Hi! My name is Kendra & I’m 29 years old, married to my high school sweetheart. I graduated from art school in 2009 & my fiance was in the navy. We got married at 21 & started growing our family when we were 23. We’ve lived all over! From San Diego, to Riverside, to New Mexico & now the greater Los Angeles area.

What inspired you start your print and tassel shop and how long have you been in business?

I started my print business while I was pregnant with our first child in 2011. I really wanted to work from home & so I knew I had to figure out a way. After my son was born in 2013, I gradually switched over into hand stamping keychains. I’ve always loved creating with my hands so it seemed like a super natural transition for my business.

What or where do you gain your inspiration for your designs?

I’m obsessed with interior design. My favorite styles would be bohemian mixed with a little Scandinavian minimalism. Which I know are two very different styles! But I feel like there shouldn’t be rules you need to follow 100%. Put things around you that inspire you & make you happy.

How do you juggle being a mommy and mass producing so many products?

Oh boy. I never know how to answer this! Honestly I’m not quite sure how it all gets done but it does haha! My children come first of course so I always make sure they’re happy & busy & then I’ll usually start on my work. I have a home office but my workshop is typically on our dining room table so I can pretty much be right in the middle of them. I love being able to watch them play while I work. It’s definitely hard to work since I’m interrupted so often but it’s something I’ve gotten used to.

Are there any retailers our readers can also find your products?

Yes! We have dozens of retailers all over the world now! This link will show you all of them! But I have to give a shoutout to our very first retailer for taking a chance on us & that is the infamous Top Knot Goods. http://bcprintshop.bigcartel.com/retailers

Since I’ve been following Kendra for about 5 plus years, I have to acknowledge that she was the original designer of leather + stamped tag key chains. I personally have 3 from her that I LOVE. Her products are quality, genuine suede, leather or even vegan goods. From keychains (for men & women) to wall hangings and garlands. I love them, and I know you will as well. Here are some samples of her awesome product line!beshkwallhangingtasseltagsucculent

Kendra also gives back to an organization for sexually exploited women. Here is a link to the website she uses to donate. It’s so awesome & they have tons of other ways to give…

All in all, Shop Kendra Beshk is by far one of my favorite small businesses and Instagrams to follow! Her products are unique, stylish and fun! You should check out her shop as well as her IG!
